What it is
Face value, plus one dollar. Nothing else.
The Door sells tickets for Loud and Heavy shows, Spacecamp events and any room that wants in, with one $1.00 service fee on a club ticket and no order fee, facility charge or print-at-home fee. The dollar covers the card company and what is left runs the platform; on a pricier ticket it steps up by fifty cents, never more than it has to. One scan and the code is spent, so a screenshot handed to a friend gets turned away. The settlement is on every screen the moment the door closes.
What a fan pays
$12 ticket
service fee $1.00; the card company keeps $0.65, The Door keeps $0.35
$13.00
$40 ticket
service fee $2.00; the card company keeps $1.46, The Door keeps $0.54
$42.00
The same $12 ticket on Ticketmaster: about $20.79.
Rule: one service fee a ticket, $1 at club prices, stepping up by 50¢ only when a dollar would not cover the card. It is the only thing added to face value, and it is shown by name. Order fees, facility charges and delivery fees do not exist here.
Assumption: the agency 10% comes off gross before costs; sound and any venue share come out before the artist pool. Whether the venue is in the split at all is set per event, because the vault says it is undecided.
Still open, in docs/OPEN-QUESTIONS.md: who holds the money between sale and payout, the real capacities and age policies of every room, and whether Spacecamp donations should ever enter the split.
